MariaElena “Mari” Medina is both a dedicated student and a passionate performer. As the representative for Conley-Caraballo High School, Mari hopes to ensure that students have access to the one-on-one support they need to succeed academically and that those who struggle with learning are seen, understood, and supported with care. Through this work, Mari hopes to help make individualized learning opportunities more accessible to students who benefit from focused attention and support.
Outside of school, Mari has a deep passion for the performing arts and dreams of becoming a successful Broadway actor. Her love for theatre and the arts has helped her develop valuable skills, including teamwork, communication, perseverance, adaptability, confidence, and resilience.
Throughout her early education, Mari often struggled with her grades and found asking for help to be challenging and intimidating. As a result, she did not always receive the support she needed until she came to Conley-Caraballo High School. The smaller class sizes created an environment where she felt more comfortable seeking help and allowed her to receive the individualized attention that helped her grow. Her personal experience has inspired her to consider how many other students may be struggling in larger school settings without access to the same level of support and encouragement.
