Dear NHUSD Families,
This week’s update will be short to remind everyone that our first annual New Haven Day will take place tomorrow, Saturday, April 22.
The highlight of the day will be performances by approximately 1,600 students representing all of our schools. Our school sites and many of our community partners will also have booths set up. Community members that are looking to make a furry addition to their family will also be able to adopt a pet as the Tri-City and Hayward Animal Shelters will be showcasing some of their potential adoptees. If you’re looking for some tasty treats to enjoy during the performances, the Food Truck Mafia will be there and will offer a variety of different food options for your enjoyment.
The best way to start this day will be to sign up for the New Haven Schools Foundation Earth Day 5K run & walk. The course for this run will start in the Logan stadium and work its way around and through the JLHS campus. The race will start at 8:30 a.m. and you can sign up for this race here.
New Haven Day will officially start at 10:00 a.m. and end at 4:00 p.m. on the JLHS Big Green adjacent to Myers Street.
So bring a blanket or beach chair and come on out to join us for a full day of fun.

La actualización de esta semana será breve para recordarles a todos que nuestro primer día anual de New Haven tendrá lugar mañana, sábado 22 de abril.
Lo más destacado del día serán las actuaciones de aproximadamente 1,600 estudiantes que representan a todas nuestras escuelas. Nuestras escuelas y muchos de nuestros socios comunitarios también tendrán puestos instalados. Los miembros de la comunidad que buscan agregar un animalito peludo a su familia también podrán adoptar una mascota, ya que los refugios de animales de Tri-City y Hayward mostrarán algunos de sus posibles adoptados. Si está buscando delicias para disfrutar durante las actuaciones, Food Truck Mafia estará allí y ofrecerá una variedad de opciones de comida diferentes para su disfrute.
La mejor manera de comenzar este día será inscribirse en la carrera y caminata de 5 km del Día de la Tierra de la Fundación de Escuelas de New Haven.
