Dear NHUSD Families,
Welcome back, everyone! I had the privilege of visiting all our sites on the first day of school, and it was wonderful to see the excitement and energy our families brought to our schools, as well as the care and commitment of our staff members who welcomed everyone as we started the 2026-27 school year. I want to thank the staff members who worked so hard over the summer to make sure our schools were clean and looking great for the start of school.
One of New Haven Unified School District’s greatest strengths is the diversity of our students, staff, and families. The many backgrounds, cultures, languages, and experiences represented across our schools help make NHUSD the special place that it is.
Each year, the Board of Education adopts resolutions recognizing and celebrating the diverse communities that make up our district. We begin the school year with our Celebrating Identity and Diversity resolution, reaffirming our commitment to ensuring every student and family feels welcomed, valued, and respected.
