Dear NHUSD Families,
At our NHUSD School Board meeting on Tuesday, December 9, the Board conducted its annual reorganization. Under our leadership rotation policy, the vice president becomes the president, the clerk becomes the vice president, and the next board member in the rotation becomes the clerk. Accordingly, Shamsa Rafay is now board president, Melanie Freeberg is vice president, and Pat Urbi is the new clerk. Congratulations to our new officers, and thank you to Shruti Kumar for her year of dedicated service as school board president.
Next week is the final week before winter break, and it will be a busy one for our high schools. Finals will take place on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. On Friday, December 19, high schools will be closed for a teacher workday; however, this date remains a regular school day for elementary and middle schools.

En la reunión del Consejo Escolar del NHUSD celebrada el martes 9 de diciembre, el Consejo llevó a cabo su reorganización anual. Según nuestra política de rotación de liderazgo, el vicepresidente pasa a ser presidente, el secretario pasa a ser vicepresidente y el siguiente miembro del Consejo Escolar en la rotación pasa a ser secretario. En consecuencia, Shamsa Rafay es ahora la presidenta del Consejo Escolar, Melanie Freeberg es la vicepresidenta y Pat Urbi es el nuevo secretario. Felicidades a nuestros nuevos oficiales y gracias a Shruti Kumar por su año de dedicado servicio como presidenta del consejo escolar.
La próxima semana es la última antes de las vacaciones de invierno y será muy ajetreada para nuestras preparatorias. Los exámenes finales se realizarán el martes, miércoles y jueves. El viernes 19 de diciembre, las preparatorias permanecerán cerradas por ser día de trabajo para los maestros; sin embargo, esta fecha sigue siendo un día escolar normal para las escuelas primarias y secundarias.
