Dear New Haven Families,
I hope you all had a fantastic break and a good start to the new calendar year.
January is Disability Awareness Month. Approximately thirteen percent of our students have defined disabilities, and these students are an essential part of what makes our schools great. Our school board passed the following resolution to honor their contributions to our schools, which can be found here.
Many families are making decisions about schools for next year. This is especially true for families with students entering schools for the first time. On Wednesday, January 21, we will be hosting an Elementary Virtual Open House where parents can learn about the instructional programs offered by our elementary schools. This webinar will be live. New Haven families and prospective New Haven families are encouraged to attend. Families can register by clicking here. Even though it is January, the end of the year will be here before we know it. For those of you with students being promoted from middle to high school or graduating from one of our high schools, please note the following promotion and graduation dates:

- Conley-Caraballo High School – Monday, May 18, 2026, 5:00 p.m.
- New Haven Academy – Wednesday, May 20, 2026, 6:00 p.m.
- New Haven Adult School – Wednesday, May 27, 2026, 6:00 p.m.
- Cesar Chavez Middle School – Wednesday, May 20, 2026, 3:00 p.m.
- Itliong-Vera Cruz Middle School – Tuesday, May 19, 2026, 3:00 p.m.
