Dear New Haven Families,
The current weather feels more like the start of summer than spring, yet as we make this seasonal transition, we welcome the longer days, renewed energy, and continued growth in learning and community across our schools.
As I am sure you are aware, serious allegations have arisen against Cesar Chavez. First and foremost, our thoughts are with any individuals who may have experienced harm. We recognize the seriousness of these allegations and the importance of supporting victims of misconduct.
Given that one of our middle schools is named after Cesar Chavez, we are carefully reviewing the situation and evaluating next steps. We remain committed to maintaining safe, respectful, and inclusive school environments for all students and staff. As we continue to gather information, we will proceed thoughtfully and in alignment with our district values. We will share additional updates as appropriate.
