Dear New Haven Families,
For many of our high school seniors, the college application season can be both exciting and stressful. To help ease that pressure, we are proud to continue our partnership with Cal State East Bay (CSUEB). Through this collaboration, any student in our district who meets CSUEB’s minimum entrance requirements is guaranteed admission for the upcoming school year.
This fall, 375 of our seniors have already received letters confirming their guaranteed acceptance. Later in the season, representatives from CSUEB will join us for a special celebration honoring these students and their families. Congratulations to all of these seniors who have at least one good college option for next fall.
October begins next week, and with it, Filipino-American Heritage Month and LGBTQIA+ History Month start. Our school board passed resolutions at our September 9, 2025, meeting recognizing and honoring these months. As superintendent, I am proud to join our Board in celebrating the rich cultural heritage of Filipino Americans and the important history and ongoing contributions of the LGBTQIA+ community. Their stories, achievements, and resilience continue to enrich our schools and strengthen our entire community.
One of the key goals in our Strategic Plan (Goal 4) is to build strong partnerships with our community to better serve our families. To help achieve this goal, we have launched our new New Haven Family Collaborative initiative.
We launched the Collaborative last week with a kickoff BBQ, where families enjoyed food, fun, and opportunities to connect with our parent groups and learn about available family services.
We have four additional Collaborative meetings planned throughout the school year on these dates. Each meeting will be held at the Educational Services Center, located at 34200 Alvarado-Niles Road, and will go from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

The first half of each meeting will focus on topics parents have told us they want to learn more about. We will provide time for our various parent groups to meet individually during the second half of the meeting.

Estimadas familias de New Haven:
Para muchos de nuestros estudiantes del 12o grado, la temporada de solicitudes de ingreso a la universidad puede ser emocionante y estresante a la vez. Para ayudar a aliviar esa presión, nos enorgullece continuar nuestra colaboración con Cal State East Bay (CSUEB). A través de esta colaboración, cualquier estudiante de nuestro distrito que cumpla con los requisitos mínimos de ingreso de CSUEB tiene garantizada la admisión para el próximo año escolar.
Este otoño, 375 de nuestros estudiantesde 12o grado ya recibieron cartas confirmando su admisión garantizada. Más adelante en la temporada, representantes de CSUEB se unirán a nosotros para una celebración especial en honor a estos estudiantes y sus familias. Felicidades a todos estos estudiantes que tienen al menos una buena opción universitaria para el próximo otoño.
Octubre comienza la próxima semana y, con él, comienzan el Mes de la Herencia Filipino-Americana y el Mes de la Historia LGBTQIA+. Nuestro consejo escolar aprobó resoluciones en nuestra reunión del 9 de septiembre de 2025 para reconocer y honrar estos meses. Como superintendente, me enorgullece unirme a nuestro Consejo para celebrar la rica herencia cultural de los filipino-americanos y la importante historia y las continuas contribuciones de la comunidad LGBTQIA+. Su historia, sus logros y su resiliencia siguen enriqueciendo nuestras escuelas y fortaleciendo a toda nuestra comunidad.
Una de las metas clave de nuestro Plan Estratégico (Meta 4) es establecer una alianza fuerte con nuestra comunidad para servir mejor a nuestras familias. Para ayudar a lograr esta meta, hemos lanzado nuestra nueva iniciativa New Haven Family Collaborative (Colaborativa Familiar de New Haven).
La semana pasada inauguramos la iniciativa con una parrillada, en la que las familias disfrutaron de comida, diversión y la oportunidad de conectarse con nuestros grupos de padres y conocer los servicios familiares disponibles.
Tenemos cuatro reuniones adicionales de la iniciativa planeadas a lo largo del año escolar. Cada reunión se llevará a cabo en el Centro de Servicios Educativos, ubicado en 34200 Alvarado-Niles Road, y será de 6:00 a 8:00 p. m.

亲爱的纽黑文学区家长们：
