PRIMARY FUNCTION

Under the supervision of the Chief Business Officer to plan, organize and direct operations and activities involved in the design, construction, implementation and completion of the Districts Bond Program facility construction, renovation and repair projects; coordinate and direct communications, personnel and resources to meet District needs and assure proper and timely completion of construction and renovation activities.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

Directly responsible to the Chief Business Officer and/or designated administrator.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Review and support selection of Instructional Materials and Resources for ELLs
  • Research effective program options to pilot/implement to our sites
  • Collaborate with administrators, coaches, and site leadership teams to examine data and practices in support ELLs
  • Support classroom teachers in evidence-based instructional strategies which support language learning in core content classes
  • Work with district staff to ensure district-wide compliance of the ELL program
  • Develop and implement a plan to support teachers to integrate ELD standards in all core content areas
  • Support teachers to create designated ELD instructional blocks to develop students’ English language proficiency
  • Participate in learning walks at sites to determine staff development needs and measure progress
  • Incorporate ELD standards connected to technology and Project Based Learning opportunities
  • Collaborate with district and site family support staff to create district wide parent education workshops pertaining to English Learner test, programs, and resources
  • Collaborate with sites to develop English Language Advisory Committees (ELAC) meeting agendas and structures
  • Support CELDT administration and testing needs
  • Prepare and maintain records and reports related to ELLs
  • Monitor Translation/Interpreter services
  • Operate a variety of data software programs for students and programs
  • Recruit, supervise and evaluate staff
  • Operate a computer and assigned software programs
  • Operate other office equipment as assigned
  • Operate a vehicle to conduct work
  • Attend and conduct a variety of meetings as assigned
  • Perform related duties as assigned

DEMONSTRATED KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

  • Plan, organize, control and direct EL services and activities.
  • Supervise the performance of assigned personnel.
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies and procedures related to EL program.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
  • Operate a computer and assigned office equipment.
  • Analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action.
  • Meet schedules and timelines.
  • Work independently with little direction.
  • Plan and organize work.
  • Prepare comprehensive narrative and statistical reports.
  • Direct the maintenance of a variety of reports and files related to assigned EL activities.
  • Maintain consistent, punctual and regular attendance.
  • Hear and speak to exchange information and make presentations.
  • Move hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard.
  • See to read a variety of materials.
  • Analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action.
  • Oversee operations of EL staff and services in NHUSD.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  • Any combination equivalent to: Master’s degree (Bachelor’s degree may be accepted) in Educational Leadership and five years of teaching experience.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • Valid California Class C driver’s license

SALARY & WORKYEAR

  • Mgt. Salary Range 45/1-5
  • 225 day work year
