Office Assistant III
PRIMARY FUNCTION
Under general supervision, to perform a wide variety of typing tasks and execute complex and responsible clerical work of more than average difficulty in an office or in a school; and to do related work as required, consistent with job description.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Directly responsible to designated administrators.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Performs a wide variety of complex clerical work, including the personal performance or supervision of typing, checking, and recording information;
- Compiles information for and prepares reports
- Computes statistical data
- Maintains file system
- Compiles and prepares student information related to attendance and enrollment for data entry and student records
- Provides information and assistance to district personnel regarding services provided by the department or school
- Receives office visitors in person or over the telephone
- And either answers questions concerning the department’s activities or refers persons to another source of information
- Compiles and prepares reports and master copies
- Operates a computer terminal and utilizes the various programs available
- Operates typewriter, copying and duplicating machines, and school communication equipment
- Analyzes situations and adopts an effective course of action
- Carries out verbal and written directions independently
- Makes arithmetical calculations quickly.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Type at a rate of thirty-five (35) words per minute
- Pass qualifying tests.
EXPERIENCE
Two (2) years of varied clerical experience of a responsible nature.
