Communication

Welcome!

At New Haven Unified, we recognize that effective communication is a cornerstone of parent engagement and student success. Good communication fosters a sense of belonging and trust within our school community. It enables parents to stay informed about their child’s education, participate in school activities, and support their child’s learning journey. Effective communication also ensures that students receive the necessary support and resources to thrive academically and personally.

We invite all students and families to engage with us through our various communication channels. Together, we can build a strong, supportive, and inclusive community that champions the success of every student.

Thank you for being an integral part of our school district. Let’s work together to ensure every student reaches their full potential.

Our commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all students and families is encapsulated in Goal 4 of our district plan: “Students and families will have access to information and district resources in a manner that fosters inclusiveness and belonging.”

Action Initiatives:

Provide Welcoming Environments for All Students and Families

  • We strive to create a warm, inclusive atmosphere where every student and family feels valued and respected. Our schools are safe havens where diversity is celebrated, and everyone is encouraged to participate fully in the educational process.

Improve Access to Engagement Opportunities for Students and Families

  • We believe that active participation in school life enhances learning and development. By improving access to a variety of engagement opportunities, we aim to strengthen the connection between home and school, ensuring that all voices are heard and valued.

Communicate in an Aligned, Consistent Manner that Respects Dignity and Promotes Information Sharing

  • Clear, respectful, and consistent communication is essential for building trust and understanding. We are committed to sharing information transparently and promptly, ensuring that all families are well-informed about district resources, events, and opportunities.

Develop and Strengthen Relationships with Our Community Partners to Provide Services for Our Families

  • Collaboration with community partners is vital in extending our support network for families. By working together, we can offer a wide range of services and resources that address the diverse needs of our student body and their families.
