Joint District & City Subcommittee Meetings

The New Haven Unified School District (“District”) and the City of Union City (“City”) share a mutual interest in sharing information and collaborating on initiatives that benefit NHUSD students, families, and the broader community. To support this shared goal, the District and the City have established a Joint District & City Subcommittee, which meets several times throughout the year.

This subcommittee consists of fewer than a quorum of NHUSD School Board members. It does not possess subject matter jurisdiction, nor does it operate under a meeting schedule established by formal Board action. No official decisions or actions related to District business are taken during these meetings. As such, they are not subject to open meeting laws.

Nevertheless, meeting dates are publicly posted on the NHUSD Public Events Calendar to ensure transparency and to allow interested community members the opportunity to attend.
