Welcome Back!
I count myself lucky that I have been able to visit all of our schools this week. The energy at our sites in our classrooms is positive and amazing: our students are happy to be back and our staff members are doing a great job of welcoming them into our classrooms.
An important part of our start of school procedures is making adjustments to schedules and staffing. While we do our best to confirm the enrollment of our students prior to the start of the school year, we always have new students show up and other students move out of the area over the summer. Accordingly, we must balance our classes and make staffing adjustments, which takes place during the first weeks of school. We do our best to minimize the impact of these changes on our students, families, and staff. We understand that for those impacted by these adjustments, it can be a little unsettling. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to responsibly balance our classes.
We count ourselves lucky to work in and serve this community. A perfect example of how our families contribute to the success of their and all of our students is through volunteering. James Logan High School was honored to have nearly a dozen parents on Wednesday assist in the distribution of schedules to over three thousand students. Their energy and commitment helped to ensure that our students quickly and efficiently got the information they needed and transition to a positive first day of school. Thank you to all those who gave up their time to support our students and to those who are considering doing so in the future.

Me considero afortunado de haber podido visitar todas nuestras escuelas esta semana. La energía en los salones de clase de nuestras escuelas es positiva y sorprendente: nuestros estudiantes están felices de estar de regreso y los miembros de nuestro personal están haciendo un gran trabajo dándoles la bienvenida en sus salones de clase.
Una parte importante de los procedimientos de inicio de año escolar consiste en ajustar los horarios y el personal. Aunque hacemos todo lo posible por confirmar el número de estudiantes inscritos antes del comienzo del año escolar, siempre aparecen nuevos estudiantes y otros se trasladan fuera del área durante el verano. En consecuencia, debemos equilibrar nuestras clases y hacer ajustes de personal, lo que tiene lugar durante las primeras semanas de clase. Hacemos todo lo posible por minimizar el impacto de estos cambios en nuestros estudiantes, familias y personal. Nos consideramos afortunados de trabajar y servir a esta comunidad. Un ejemplo perfecto de cómo nuestras familias contribuyen al éxito de todos nuestros estudiantes es a través del trabajo voluntario. La Preparatoria James Logan tuvo el honor de tener a casi una docena de padres el miércoles ayudando en la distribución de horarios a más de tres mil estudiantes. Su energía y compromiso ayudó a asegurar que nuestros estudiantes rápida y eficientemente obtuvieran la información que necesitaban y la transición a un positivo primer día de clases.
