There are twelve schools in the New Haven Unified School District, and ten serve residents of their neighborhoods. All New Haven students who qualify can apply to attend the other two alternative education schools.
Elementary Schools: Alvarado, Delaine Eastin, Guy Emanuele, Hillview Crest Magnet School, Tom Kitayama, Pioneer, and Searles serve students in transitional kindergarten through fifth grades. Two-Way Dual Language programs are offered at Guy Emanule (Mandarin) and Searles (Spanish). Hillview Crest is home to the only C-STEM (Coding, Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) program partnered with UC Davis in Northern California.
Middle Schools: César Chávez and Itliong-Vera Cruz serve students in sixth, seventh, and eighth grades. The Spanish Two-Way Dual Language program is offered at Cesar Chavez.
High School: James Logan is New Haven’s only comprehensive high school and serves all New Haven students in ninth through twelfth grades.
Alternative Education Schools: New Haven has two schools that serve our students who need an alternative educational opportunity. An application process is required for acceptance into these programs. Conley-Caraballo High School is a continuation school that predominantly serves students in grades eleven and twelve. The New Haven Academy offers an online and in-person program to serve students who can excel in learning more independently.
