Dear NHUSD Families,
One of the programs our district is known for nationwide is the Logan High School Forensics (Speech and Debate) program. Each year, during the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend, Logan hosts a forensics tournament in honor of Dr. King that draws speech and debate teams from across the country. Another big event happening this month is the annual New Haven Schools Foundation’s (“NHSF”) Diamonds in Education Gala. The gala is one of the biggest fundraising events of the year for the NHSF. You can get tickets, participate in the live auction (available now), and learn more about the event here: www.diamondsineducation.com.
The Foundation’s money goes directly to our students and teachers, so please join us at the event. You can participate in the live auction using the link above, regardless of whether you attend the event. The auction is active now. Thank you.
One of the ways that the NHSF gives back to our students and teachers is through its scholarship program. The NHSF will accept scholarship applications between February 1 and March 4 Click here for more information about student scholarships.
In December, our NHUSD Board of Education dedicated January as Disability Awareness Month. They will be adopting a resolution during our board meeting on January 16, recognizing the contributions that our students with disabilities make to our schools and reaffirming our commitment to providing them with an inclusive education.
