A. PRIMARY FUNCTION
Under general supervision to supervise students during before school, after school and intercession activities. To assist students in activities, including enrichment, intervention and other forms of support in programs such as the Expanded Learning Program (ELOP), etc.
B. ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Directly responsible to the Program Specialist.
C. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Monitors students in programs such as the ELOP, etc.
- Monitors volunteers in the program
- Implements and leads recreational and social activities in programs such as the ELOP
- Communicates regularly with Program Specialist regarding issues of safety, discipline, and the effectiveness and appropriateness of recreational and social activities
D. ABILITY TO:
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
- See to read a variety of materials
- Use appropriate safety precautions and procedures
- Use proper lifting techniques
- Meet schedules and timelines
- Ability to speak in public
- Perform physical labor
- Walk or stand for extended periods of time
- Reach overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally
- Bend at the waist, kneel or crouch
- Hear and speak to exchange information in person or on the telephone or walkie talkie
- Perform duties as assigned
E. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with groups of children in recreational and social settings.
Second language is desirable.
